David Wright, Managing Director of Wright Management Consultants Australia, works as a facilitator in strategy, organisation development and large project design.
He has worked internationally, undertaking consulting projects in the private sector for IBM, AMP, Fletcher Challenge, Trans Rail, Telecom NZ, DB Group, Air New Zealand, Methanex, NZ Post, M-co, Trans Alta, Optus Foundation and Utilicorp.
In the public sector David has managed significant projects for the New Zealand Government including the restructuring the Ministries of Health, Housing, Public Works, Land Information, Foreign Affairs and Computer Services. Other Public Sector clients include the State Services Commission, New Zealand Treasury, Office of the Auditor General, The Commerce Commission, The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, The Museum of New Zealand, Creative New Zealand, Transit New Zealand, Hutt Valley Health, Health Waikato, Capital Coast Health, Waikato Regional Council, the New Zealand Fire Service and Trans Power. David sits on an Advisory Board to the New Zealand Police.
In Australia clients include the Optus Foundation, Victorian State Treasury, the Departments of Premier and Cabinet, Human Services, Primary Industries, Education and Justice, Vic Roads, VMIA, the CPS Credit Union and the Adelaide City Council.
During his career in IBM, David’s responsibilities included accountability for all business with the New Zealand Government, management of IBM's New Zealand marketing staff and various management assignments in the USA including Executive Assistant to the President of IBM AFE Corporation. He was the recipient of several of IBM's highest awards for outstanding performance.
In 1981 he returned to New Zealand to establish his consulting company and has become recognised by Chief Executives as a leading facilitator of change at the highest levels. This year Wright Management Consultants commenced operation in Melbourne Australia.
David Wright is a graduate of Auckland University in Mathematics and Physics. In 1980 was assigned briefly to the Brookings Institution. He is a Psychodramatist, NLP Practitioner and is certified by Dr. Edward de Bono to teach de Bono thinking systems. His interests include sailing, property development and restoring classic cars. David is married with six children.
